Google just developed a very clever reputation-buster safeguard. In order to help users from making a fools of themselves by sending late night weekend emails to ex-girlfriends, ex-bosses or ex-husbands, they came up with Mail Goggles (cute) that give users a second chance. Once you enable Goggle, you are forced to reconsider the email you wrote by figuring out the answers to several easy math problems. These simple arithmetic problems help assess whether you are in the right frame of mind when you send the potential errant emails. If you can’t do the math, no email gets sent to destroy your reputation overnight. Mail Goggles creator Jon Perlow says the following: "Solve some simple math problems and you're good to go. Otherwise, get a good night's sleep and try again in the morning."

Some folks say that the new service is drunk-proofing. Others say that the math problems are so easy to solve that a youngster could pass the test. I can easily imagine what segment of the population would find this most useful. However, with the economic woes facing our country (and others), pink slipped employees might find this reputation-safety service beneficial too.
