Short note for a busy Friday afternoon. This was in my alert inbox on reputation. I had to chuckle.

Indeed, Brandseye, an online reputation management service (“reputation” is the new catchword for companies once called marketers, PRs and media managers)….

I can attest that reputation is not a “new” catchword. It has been around for a long long time. It is just that the world has caught up with us reputation pioneers.

I’m more amused by, “for companies once called marketers, PRs and media managers.” Are we called reputationers now? Last I check we’re still a marketing agency…

  2. Given that I was muttering this very word back in the mid-80s while working first as a Public Affairs Specialist for the US Army Boston District Recruiting Command and then as a Public Relations Specialist for Honeywell Electro-Optics Division, “reputation” is most assuredly NOT a “new catchword”!

But some folks out there have been a smidge slow in recognizing the intrinsic meaning…and value…of it.

    Happy Friday!

  3. Maybe we should be called reputationistas….lgr
